As a Trainee Arborist you will be working towards achieving;

  • HR Drivers Licence (preferred)
  • Construction Induction Card (must have)
  • EWP License
  • Standard Climbing Technician
  • Cert 3 in arboriculture
  • Wood Chipper, stump grinding and chain saw competency

 

A week in the life of a Trainee Arborist looks like this;

  • Attending TAFE monthly
  • Going with crews onsite and following Team Leader’s directions.
  • Ensuring you complete daily Pre-Start Risk Assessments.
  • Cutting wood, loading firewood & mulch and doing mulch and firewood deliveries.
  • Using the machinery including wood splitter, skid steer, front End loader
  • Traffic Control.
  • Ensuring that job sites are left clear, and no waste left behind.
  • Carrying out all WH&S procedures.
  • Ensuring gear and vehicles are being kept clean and greased and well looked after
  • Recognising and reporting hazards which may affect the health and well-being of yourself, others, or the environment
  • Assist & cooperate in ensuring the quality, safety and environmental management reports are updated and all A&D policies are followed.

 

To be successful in this traineeship position, you will;

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team
  • Able to undertake manual/physical work
  • Commitment to working in a safe manner
  • Well-presented and friendly customer service skills
