We are excited to offer a student placement opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant Student to gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare setting. This placement provides an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced allied health professionals and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care and rehabilitation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support allied health professionals, in conducting client assessments and screenings to determine needs and goals.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans and interventions, under the supervision and direction of the supervising therapist.
  • Provide direct support to clients during therapy sessions, including assisting with exercises, activities, and interventions as instructed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care and effective communication regarding client progress and treatment plans.
  • Assist with the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation, in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance learning and contribute to the overall goals of the placement experience.
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice, maintaining confidentiality and respecting the rights and dignity of clients at all times.
  • Seek guidance and feedback from supervising allied health professionals to enhance clinical skills, knowledge, and competence in the field of allied health assistance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited allied health assistant program certificate III or IV
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also showing initiative and autonomy in completing tasks.
  • Understanding of ethical and professional standards of practice in allied health assistance.
  • Willingness to learn and actively participate in all aspects of the placement experience, including client care, documentation, and professional development opportunities.
