“I like working for family businesses. They always have a nice feel to them, and you get treated like more than just a number”
Trudi loves that every weekend on the South Coast feels like a holiday.
Trudi grew up in a small town in Central West NSW and took an internship at the National Australia Bank. She moved around with the bank all over the state gaining lots of experience.
In 2000 she got transferred to Nowra and fell in love with the Shoalhaven as well as her now husband.
When she had her first child she left the bank, knowing that the long hours would be difficult to manage. She took a part time admin job to help juggle family life.
8 years later she started an admin role with A&D Tree Services where she’s been ever since.
“I like working for family businesses. They always have a nice feel to them, and you get treated like more than just a number,” she said.
“The boys are very flexible, and Lisa the Office Manager has taught me so much. We support each other, which means when you do take time off, there isn’t a big pile of work to come back to.”
“Everyone is busy, but we enjoy a laugh when we can and they love it when I bring in some homemade treats for morning tea,” added Trudi.
Trudi and her family live in Greenwell Point and love to take the boat out on the water on weekends:
“We love to go fishing and when the kids were little, they had plenty of room to roam around and ride their bikes.”
“Now one has joined the Navy after growing up in a defence town and the other is a Greenskeeper at Worrigee Sports Club with a great mentor who we’ve known for many years through sport.”
“I’ve been involved with the Albatross Netball Club for 20 years and made friends for life through that.”
“We just won our grand final on the weekend, which was my last game, but I’ve been saying I’ll retire from it for a while now!”
