Some Aussie towns you drive through, and you wonder what their future holds with the present barely hanging on by a thread. Others are historical landmarks with museums and old photos depicting their heyday when a factory or railway line once provided a bustling centre of economic activity. This is far from the case on the South Coast…
COVID saw expected growth for the South Coast fast tracked and still the region is brimming with potential – boasting one of the few areas on the east coast to have new industrial and housing land for sale.
The growth increases the demand for other services too, including professional services. Businesses like Macey Insurance Brokers are seeing consistent year on year growth as the businesses they serve grow and the number of referrals increase. Financial Dynamics and Carter Ferguson Solicitors tell a similar story of growing with their clients.
“As more and more businesses set up shop on the South Coast, the greater the demand for business insurance, accounting and legal services.” Said Brendan Goddard, General Manager of Macey Insurance Brokers.
“It provides an element of certainty for the future and is a comfort to anyone in the industry locally knowing there will still be plenty of opportunities for growth on the horizon.”
While the dominant industries have changed over the past decade on the South Coast with a shift away from Agriculture and Manufacturing, what has stayed the same is the variety of industries with high levels of activity across Defence, Health, Education and more, all of which require the support of the professional services industry.
“It’s not just the amount of opportunity and growth that’s available here that makes this industry unique,” said Brendan. “It’s the collaborative way in which businesses work together. I know I can pick up the phone, call another local business owner, and get the advice I need.”
“We often unite for a common purpose through networking groups like the Shoalhaven Business Chamber or to raise money for important causes through the annual Macey’s Charity Golf Day – that’s the kind of community we are,” added Brendan.
With several key projects on the horizon across a variety of industries and a strong interconnected community ready to capitalise on these, the South Coast is a safe bet for the future.
